Violin Case
Presented with the ambition to create a high-end, high tech violin case, Radlab developed the body in keeping with the precise, methodical curves of the instrument it would envelop and protect. In an effort to assemble a striking composition of a relatively small, yet significant set of parts, Radlab collaborated with Marco Coppiardi to produce the sinuous curves of the carbon fiber body, customized handle and clasps, and embedded ‘invisible’ hinges. In addition to designing the case and all of its components, Radlab provided 3d printed molds to be used for prototyping the clasps and hinges, and prepared the case geometry for prototyping.
