Totems

As part of an exhibit of proto-architectural towers at The Zoellner Arts Center from February 2, 2012 – May 25, 2012, Radlab was asked to fabricate six distinct totems. Each totem, approximately 2’x2’x8′, was made out of one solid block of EPS foam. Each block was carved using a custom hot wire cutter built in house for our robotic arm, then sanded, spackled, primed and painted. The exhibit is entitled “Totems: Silhouettes and Iconographic Pluralism.”
