Tactile Wall Map

Fabricated for Gund Partnership’s Grousbeck Center for Students and Technology at the Perkins School for the Blind, Radlab was commissioned to help realize their vision for engaging students through their sense of touch. The map is used to encourage those with a visual impairment to employ their haptic senses as a way of navigating across the surface to peruse the topography of the world.

The Massachusetts Architectural Access Board (AAB) with the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) recognized the Grousbeck Center for Students & Technology with a 2013 Accessible Design Honor Award.
